The Northern Virginia Chapter of Trout Unlimited is a diverse group of men, women and children, mostly from the Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County, and Prince William County, who enjoy fishing and associated activities to enhance quality fishing opportunities. We are one of the largest TU chapters and often interact with other nearby TU chapters.
Our chapter holds regular meetings on the first Thursday of every month at the Vienna Firehouse, Vienna, Virginia. You need not be a member to come to our meetings. Come at 7:00 p.m. to join in the fun of meeting our members and swap fishing and stream conservation stories. Come at 6:30 p.m. to join in the fly tying classes. In the rare event that we have to reschedule, check our home page for a notice.
Our emphasis is on cold water stream preservation and restoration, including actions to cool urban storm water that reaches our local streams, improving stream water quality and fish habitat. Some of our activities include bass and other warm-water fish when our urban streams become too warm for trout due to the summer storm-water runoff from our hot roofs, parking lots and streets that enters our streams with little or no filtering or cooling. Our membership also participates in fun and educational activities, such as Fish-With-A-Member trips, Tune-Ups and youth education.
