TU Tri-State Conservation and Fishing Camp Report

The last week in June marked the 8th annual TU Tri-State Conservation and Fishing Camp. 23 high school students from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and other locales gathered at Graves' Mountain Lodge in Syria, VA for a week of fishing, conservation, fly tying, and just plain fun. The students spend significant time in the Shenandoah National Park, learning about (and fishing for) native brook trout and their important place in the watershed ecosystem.

The camp is staffed by TU volunteers as well as conservation and fishing professionals. As always, the Northern Virginia Chapter played a significant role in the camp, providing numerous volunteers and staffers, as well as financial support. The NoVa Chapter has been one of the strongest supporters of the camp for over 8 years, and the program continues to improve and evolve. Many thanks!
