April Fly of the Month: Shad Dart

Fly Tying Demonstration
In the continuing fly tying techniques and materials use series John Hadley will be tying the Shad Dart at the December meeting. Originator: Newell Steele, Angler’s Lie (former fly fishing shop in Arlington, VA). Learn to attach a cone head, slinky fiber and holographic fiber tail and various color chenille bodies. It is an easy, simple and fast fly to tie; a good fly for beginning tiers and anyone fishing for Shad. See April Newsletter for the recipe and additional information. Bring your vice, bobbin, white thread, scissors, etc. Materials will be provided to tie a few flies.
