Fly Tying Classes : Northern Virginia Chapter 360 of Trout Unlimited
The Northern Virginia Chapter of Trout Unlimited (NVTU) will sponsor Fly Tying Classes during the fall of 2012. Classes will last 5-6 weeks, one night a week. Members of the class must be members of Trout Unlimited, and NVTU Chapter members get priority seating. Class schedules are adjusted depending on the number of interested members. Class members are asked to provide their own fly tying tools; however, a limited number of loaner tool sets are available. The class is structured to learn fly tying techniques used in 10 different fly patterns. Each class member receives a bag of fly tying hooks and materials sufficient to tie at least four of each of the 10 different patterns, and a booklet containing many fly patterns. The cost of the NVATU Fly Tying Class is $90, payable in advance. The instructor for the class has over 35 years experience in fly tying and has taught several fly fishermen the art of fly tying.
